Russian company Volgabus presented unmanned modular bus

The development of a new transport is a subsidiary of BMG (Bakulin Motors Group), which was created by the owner of Volgabus Alexey Bakulin. So far, only the concept of transport, called MATRЁSHKA, was presented. But, according to company representatives, the development is already in full swing, moreover, on the territory of Skolkovo they are also conducting tests of the new vehicle.

The BMG reports that the modular transport of the new generation can be used in different ways, and offer three options for its use. The first option is shipping. In this case MATRЁSHKA will be delivered in the form of an open cargo platform, designed to transport containers of up to three cubic meters. The second option is a special transportation. In this case, the vehicle will be able to transport, for example, pumps for firefighters, mobile energy stores and mobile diagnostic systems. The third option is a passenger bus, into which the “matryoshka” can also be easily turned.

The first thing BMG plan to start producing passenger "nested doll". The vehicle consists of three modules. Extreme contain all the stuffing, which includes batteries, electric motors and so on. The central module is designed specifically for the transport of passengers. By the way, the “matryoshka” will have an autopilot.

The modular system allows you to literally "on the fly" to change the layout of the vehicle and quickly make repairs if necessary. This approach is very convenient for other reasons. For example, you can quickly replace the battery module and send the bus further along the route.

The presence of autopilot will allow the novelty to work around the clock and autonomously. But to monitor the movement of vehicles will create special control centers, whose specialists will be able to monitor the health of machines and, if necessary, even communicate with passengers.

Especially for passengers, they will develop applications for smartphones, thanks to which everyone will be able to receive information about the routes and arrival times of vehicles.
