A group of researchers from Germany has developed a robotic platform that synchronizes with any virtual reality helmet. Externally, the platform resembles a prism that is held in a suspended state by several cables. Inside the prism there is a platform with a chair installed in the center. All this would not look so interesting if it were not for one thing: an algorithm for tilting, lifting and turning the platform was developed based on the functioning of the human vestibular apparatus.

This is how our vestibular apparatus works, and according to similar principles a new invention of German scientists works.

“The robotic platform consists of strong hydrocarbon fiber with a total weight of 80 kilograms. In the manufacture of the platform, we used the same technologies that are used in astronautics to create parts of rockets to create a solid and at the same time lightweight design. At the moment we have no plans to enter the market, because the platform needs some work. We plan to reduce the size of the platform and add new features so that the simulation of virtual space is not much different from real life. This could be a new step in the development of virtual technologies and will find a great use in teaching piloting, driving and, of course, video games. ”
