Adobe plans to integrate a voice assistant into its applications.

The popularity of Siri, Cortana and other voice assistants is haunting many software vendors. Indeed, it is much easier to call the necessary command out loud than to look for it in intricate multi-level menus. This is especially true when it comes to sophisticated professional software like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe After Effects. Adobe is making its first tentative steps in this direction and even showed us a tiny demo of how she sees the voice assistant in her future applications.

In the video, the user uses his tablet and using a voice assistant cuts the image in the proportions he needs, uses the Undo command, and then publishes the photo on social networks. It would seem that this is a big deal, think, business. But if Adobe experts take seriously the promotion of their ideas, it can really make managing complex applications many times more accessible to the masses. Here the fact that a person uses spoken language also plays an important role. He does not call the function of the application as it appears in the list of the drop-down menu, but describes to the application what it wants to achieve in the end. And the application successfully understands it.

So far, of course, we are talking only about mobile applications. But it is possible that this functionality will sooner or later get to the company's desktop software. It is likely that the first attempts to integrate voice control into its software Adobe will make in the current, 2017.
