# video | Russian hoverbike first tested in public

We have repeatedly told you about the Russian company HoverSurf, which is engaged in the design and assembly of hoverbikes or flying motorcycles. In February, a video of one of their new Hover test flights was published on the Web, called HoverBike S3, where S means “Scorpion”. Today, we invite you to familiarize yourself with the new video shot at the Moscow Raceway circuit located near Moscow, where the flying motorcycle was first tested in front of the general public.

According to the TASS report, the pilot of the Hovierbike rose above the surface of the track to a height of about one meter and flew a distance of about one kilometer. Tests were carried out in the course of international competitions in highway-ring motorcycle racing. The spectators of the spectacle came to a complete delight, because nothing like this at the circuit had never shown. The hybrid of the quadcopter and motorcycle works on four powerful electric motors, and is controlled with the help of two convenient joysticks or remotely from the remote.

Before the start of the flight, the pilot must put a check on his arm, similar to that used in jet skis, so that in case of an emergency the system can be de-energized. According to the technical characteristics of the HoverBike S3, its weight is 150 kilograms, 50 kilograms of which is a battery. The altitude today is limited to five meters, and the maximum speed is 70 kilometers per hour. One battery charge lasts for 30 minutes of flight, and the time of its full recharge is four hours. Presumably, the cost of hoverbike will be from 50 to 80 thousand dollars.
