The English manufacturer Aston Martin Limited announced its intention to release an electric car by 2019. In addition, AM CEO Andy Palmer said in an interview with the press that by about 2025 the company was about to begin a smooth transition to electric traction.
In the coming years, it will not be possible to completely abandon internal combustion engines, but in five to seven years all the cars manufactured under the Aston Martin brand will be hybrid, which will allow them to drive not only gas or gasoline, but also use electric drives for movement.
The first fully electric car company will be the model RapidE, which is just going to release a limited edition in 2019. There will be about a hundred cars in total, so the exclusive novelty will most likely be bought up by preliminary orders in private collections - the pleasure will definitely not come from cheap ones.
Aston Martin buys engines and electronic components from Daimler AG, but electric cars produced by the English will be equipped with electric motors, which the company will manufacture independently.
