Blue Origin conducted the first fire tests of the engine BE-4

It seems that the New Glen rocket, developed by Blue Origin, has become a step closer to its first flight, because now it does have working engines that have passed the first tests. Yes, for now it's a bit early to rejoice, but work on the BE-4 engine lasted almost six years, and yesterday, at last, its first tests took place.

The video of the first fire test engine was published on the official twitter account. Earlier, the head of the company, Jeff Bezos, repeatedly told about the advantages of the engine, demonstrated the drawings, sketches and sketches. Now everyone can see the work of the engine.

The New Glen rocket is being developed for reuse. Representatives of the company say that one rocket will be able to withstand up to one hundred launches. Its launch will require seven BE-4 engines, with the help of which the rocket will be able to put up to 45 tons of payload into orbit. In addition, they are planning to move to BE-4 at the United Launch Alliance, which now uses Russian-made engines.
