In science fiction films, we can often see amazing gadgets with which creatures from different worlds understand each other, despite the fact that they speak completely different languages. It is strange that so far no one has tried to implement something similar with the help of modern technologies. But sooner or later this should have happened, and here the company Waverly Labs introduced the world a prototype headphone that translates everything you speak from another country into a language you understand.
Andrew Ochoa, the founder of Waverly Labs, came up with the idea of creating such a translator when he accidentally met a girl from France. “It would be great to understand everything that she says,” the developer thought to himself. The next day, he began work on a compact earphone-translator. Of course, this gadget works in conjunction with your smartphone and special software, and something tells me that it could not do without Google Translate, but why didn’t anyone think of creating something like this before? After all, it’s so great for two interlocutors to insert such headphones into their ears and talk to each other without any language barriers.
Of course, the system works imperfectly, and quite expected translation errors are not ruled out. It also takes some time for the software to translate the audio information and play it in another language. Therefore, the sound comes with some lag, but even with all these shortcomings, using such headphones you can quite comfortably communicate with foreigners or taunt the French, as Andrew does. Technologies are developing rapidly, and who knows what this project will lead to in just a few years. In the meantime, Andrew is slowly improving his brainchild and plans to launch a fundraising campaign to develop his ideas on the crowdfunding portal IndieGoGo.
