The Chinese engineering company Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive (Zhuzhou electric locomotives) has developed a new “wireless” tram, capable of carrying up to 380 passengers at a time. Through the use of supercapacitors, the manufacturer has created a vehicle that can move along a route without wires, fully recharging on platforms during short stops. In order to drive 3-5 kilometers, the tram needs to stand in wait for passengers for about 30 seconds - this is enough time to charge the batteries and move on.

The Chinese Xinhua News Agency reports that all the technologies used in the creation of the vehicle, and the details necessary for production, have been developed and produced in China. The first such car has already left the assembly line on August 1, 2016. Things are easy, it remains only to equip the stops with chargers, and that’s all: you can cut horns off the trams and remove ugly wires from the streets.
