Surely, many people remember how, quite recently, Freddie Mercury and Tupac Shakur were “resurrected” in the form of a hologram on a large stage. This, without a doubt, spectacular demonstration still had little in common with the distribution to the masses, because the equipment involved in the process was very difficult to maintain and too cumbersome. But more recently, the HoloVit startup from the company of the same name went beyond the prototype and is already collecting orders at the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform for the delivery of the first batch for everyone.
The system is extremely easy to use: it requires only a special transparent screen and a tablet, TV, smartphone or laptop as a projector. It is enough to install the device-projector at a certain distance from the screen, run the HoloVit application and, in fact, everything. The home hologram is ready to use.
Unfortunately, at the moment the system is designed in such a way that it is impossible to use any video fragment as a hologram. But the developers provide tools for converting video to the format reproduced by HoloVit, and also make it possible to use video recorded with any camera on a black background as a hologram.
The fundraising campaign for Indiegogo will last another month. The range includes 3 types of screens that differ in diagonal size. The smallest model costs 79 dollars. Agree, not so expensive for a piece of the future to settle in your house now?
