Swedish inventor with a nickname amazingDIYprojects and part-owner of the channel of the same name on YouTube, built a flying chair, and also laid out in open access detailed instructions for making an unusual means of transportation.
The author of the invention himself calls the flying seat “an individual flying dronus”, but it can only be called a drone conditionally, since the pilot is in the aircraft itself and does not control it remotely. Nevertheless, the author came up with such a name for a reason: the fact is that the flying chair rises into the air due to the eight screws, and the take-off and landing are carried out vertically, as in already familiar drones and quadrocopters.
Similar machines were invented earlier, but they needed thrust 12, 16 or even 54 electric motors for takeoff with a pilot on board. As the author himself admits, reducing the number to 8 was not at all difficult for him. Instead of batteries, he used an internal combustion engine of about 5 liters as a power source, which gave much more power and increased the duration of the flight. At the moment, the chair can only leave the ground to a height of no more than 1 meter, but in the future the inventor plans to increase this figure.
It should be noted that this is not the first invention of the Swede. Previously, he had built a flying car using a similar technology (although it took off only from 10 attempts), which took off to the height of a 5-storey building.
You can get acquainted with the principles of operation of the flying chair with the help of the video below. Well, if you decide to build your own aircraft, on the same YouTube channel you will find detailed video instructions on assembly.
