DJI Inspire 2 received a second camera for video from the first person

DJI continues to work even in the last days of 2016. Hot on the heels of the announcement of Mavic Pro at the end of September, the manufacturer of UAVs announced the release of an update for its giant Matrice 600 last week. Today, the company held a relatively private event in Los Angeles, where it presented two more drons.

Both of today's updates relate to the two existing lines of the company, focused on professionals. The most important news is the update of Inspire, a line specifically designed for filmmakers and professional photographers.

Not surprisingly, the company called the update Inspire 2 (do not confuse with Inspire 1 v 2.0). This system is similar to its predecessor, but is built on a frame made of aluminum alloy, designed to reduce the weight of the system. The drone is capable of speeds up to 110 km / h, accelerates to 90 km / h in four seconds, and the claimed flight time on two batteries is up to 27 minutes.

An important update was the addition of a second camera from the first person, so that the pilot will be able to observe where the drone is going until the second operator takes control of the onboard camera.

Drone also got two new camera options. There is the X5S, equipped with a 4/3 microsensor at 20.8 megapixels and supporting 10 lenses, and the X4S, a lightweight professional camera with a 20 megapixel sensor. The company will also add more camera options in the future. All this is supported by a new image processing system, CinceCore 2.0, which helps the system to process large files faster by capturing 5.2K video at 4.2 Gbps.

The Inspire 2 remote looks like its predecessor remote, only with its own built-in 5.5-inch display that does not require the pilot to install a smartphone. The remote can display the shooting of two cameras in split-screen mode, but it is better to give control of the system to the second person who can control the capture of the camera through the smartphone application.

Inspire 2 will cost 2999 dollars. There is also a combined package that includes the above-mentioned Zenmuse X5S camera, among other things - its cost exceeds $ 6198. Deliveries of the combined package will begin next month, and separately the aircraft and camera - in January.
