NVIDIA, famous for its video cards, unveiled the next generation of its Jetson platform. We remind you that this platform was designed to help manufacturers integrate artificial intelligence into their devices. If you believe the statements of the manufacturer, the Jetson TX2 has become twice as productive as its predecessor TX1, as well as less voracious in terms of energy consumption.
Jetson TX2 is based on Pascal GPU, and is also equipped with two 64-bit four-core ARM processors. The board contains 8 GB of RAM, as well as 32 GB of fast memory for data storage. Among other things, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth are built into the platform. The main task of Jetson TX2 is the active promotion of neural networks in production and everyday life, because you can embed the platform in almost anything: from factory robots to personal gadgets.
In addition to TX2, NVIDIA also announced JetPack 3.0, an updated version of its SDK, for managing the Jetson family of platforms. The SDK contains tools for controlling artificial intelligence, as well as all the necessary drivers for connecting various external devices, such as cameras for image recognition. The SDK can be purchased on March 14 at a price of $ 599, and the Jetson TX2 platform will go on sale in the second quarter of this year at a price of $ 399.
