NVIDIA and Paccar engaged in the development of an unmanned truck

Recently it became known that NVIDIA signed a cooperation agreement with Bosch, under which the two companies will be engaged in the development and implementation of automated control technologies based on artificial intelligence. Almost immediately, NVIDIA announced a partnership with Paccar, a famous American truck manufacturer. Together they plan to develop an unmanned truck.

The Drive PX 2 platform, created by NVIDIA experts, is already used in Tesla cars, but now it's time for trucks. Currently, Paccar produces three models: Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF. Which of them they plan to equip with autonomous driving in the first place is not reported yet, but the company’s blog said that the first prototype of a truck using NVIDIA technologies has already been created and will soon be ready for testing. Probably, in the future, Paccar trucks will be equipped with an on-board computer with artificial intelligence, which NVIDIA plans to develop with Bosch.

The rapidly growing market for autonomous driving technology is attracting the attention of various electronics manufacturers and developers. Among them are Waymo, Qualcomm and many others. Intel, the world's largest chip maker, also did not stand aside and the other day bought the Israeli company Mobileye, which creates its own autopilot.
