Launch aircraft from Stratolaunch Systems for the first time left the hangar

Stratolaunch Systems started six years ago. Created by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, the company set out to develop a huge aircraft designed to launch space rockets. Today, Allen tweeted a photo of an airplane that was first rolled out of a hangar for testing the fuel system.

The wingspan of the aircraft Stratolaunch Systems is 117 meters, which is almost 30 meters more than the aircraft "Mriya" - now it is the largest in the world. The length of the American aircraft is 92 meters, and it weighs 250 tons, but at maximum load it will weigh almost 600 tons. The aircraft is equipped with a 28-wheeled landing gear that can withstand such loads, so it can simultaneously carry up to three Orbital ATK Pegasus XL missiles and bring them into orbit from a height of about nine thousand meters.

CEO Jean Floyd noted that the creation of the aircraft is at an early stage, therefore, to talk about flight tests is too early.
