An international group of three-person scientists has developed microscopic and “easy-to-rise” robots that can quickly and efficiently destroy cancer cells. The Verge reports that last year, researchers had already received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for their creation last year, and this year they began testing it.
Nanomachines initially target a specific type of protein, so they accurately find the target. If they are activated with the help of light, they begin to unwind very quickly, thus penetrating into the cell, thus destroying it in a matter of minutes. It is noted that nanobots search for targets without the participation of light, but they can only penetrate into it with illumination.
Nanobots are so small that even a “rank” of 50 thousand specimens in thickness will hardly be more than a human hair. Now scientists have conducted a series of experiments on fish and microorganisms, but they hope that in the future they will be able to use them to treat humans, because such robots will be useful not only for destroying tumors, but also for targeted delivery of drugs to a specific area of the body.
