Startup Hyperloop One continues to conclude preliminary agreements on the future construction of its transport systems in different countries of the world. The other day the negotiations between the management of the company and Estonian Prime Minister Jüri Ratas ended with the signing of a contract of intent for the construction of a vacuum transport tube.
According to the agreement, a transport system, the construction of which may begin in the future, will have to connect Tallinn and Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Now that the preliminary contract has been signed, both sides will begin a detailed study of the construction plan. The Estonian project involves laying a route not only by land, part of it, according to preliminary plans, will be laid under water.
In the spring, Hyperloop One presented a plan that outlined possible options for building a transportation system in Europe. An underwater route connecting the capitals of Estonia and Finland was also present there. And it seems that both parties intend to implement it in the future, especially since Hyperloop One had previously held similar negotiations with the Finnish authorities.
However, the parties did not discuss any specific deadlines, because this agreement can be called preliminary, and the purpose of signing it is to demonstrate the interest of Estonia and Hyperloop One in cooperation. The Estonian government has yet to solve a lot of questions before construction becomes possible, and Hyperloop One needs to complete all the tests and start producing ready-made capsules and vacuum tunnels.
