In the future, such panels can be installed not only in homes, but also in cars and even mobile devices, ”Richard Lunt, a professor of materials science and chemistry at Michigan State University, told in an interview.

Today in the US, only 1.5% of all energy is produced by solar panels. And in order to minimize the use of fossil fuels, scientists from various scientific institutions are constantly working to create new technologies in the field of alternative energy. Researchers at Michigan State University estimate that there are between 5 and 7 billion square meters of glass surfaces in the country. And if all this glass is replaced with solar panels, it will be possible to cover up to 40% of the country's electricity needs.
