And scientists from Michigan State University just managed to create the most transparent solar panels, which in the future could well provide the US with about 40% of the required energy.

“High transparency solar panels embody the future of renewable energy. We analyzed their potential, and it seems that, collecting only invisible light, these devices are able to provide us with the same amount of energy as traditional solar cells. In the future, such panels can be installed not only in homes, but also in cars and even mobile devices, ”Richard Lunt, a professor of materials science and chemistry at Michigan State University, told in an interview.

Today in the US, only 1.5% of all energy is produced by solar panels. And in order to minimize the use of fossil fuels, scientists from various scientific institutions are constantly working to create new technologies in the field of alternative energy. Researchers at Michigan State University estimate that there are between 5 and 7 billion square meters of glass surfaces in the country. And if all this glass is replaced with solar panels, it will be possible to cover up to 40% of the country's electricity needs.
