Putin instructed the Central Bank to come up with a mining tax until the summer of 2018

The government and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation were instructed by Russian President Vladimir Putin to prepare amendments to Russian legislation governing the ICO. In addition, Putin asked to come up with a mining tax.

"The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the Bank of Russia, will ensure that amendments to the legislation of the Russian Federation provide for <...> regulation of public fundraising and cryptocurrency by placing tokens (ICO) by analogy with the regulation of primary public offering (IPO)", - quotes RT instruction published on the Kremlin website.

According to the presidential instruction, by July 1, 2018, the Central Bank and the government will have to state the status of cryptocurrency in the legislation, describe and classify the technologies of the blockchain, token and smar-contract. In addition, they will have to draw up the necessary requirements for those who are engaged in mining cryptocurrency, to develop methods for registering and taxing miners.

Recall that last week Nikolai Nikiforov said that Vladimir Putin had decided to create a crypto-ruble and had instructed the government and the authorities responsible for this to start working in the right direction. So far, not so much is known about the crypto-ruble. It is reported that it will not be possible to mine it and that it will not be anonymous. In addition, the system will be centralized.
