Israeli startup Eviation Aircraft has already shown a working prototype of its small electric aircraft at the International Paris Air Show this summer. At the same time, representatives of the company voiced their position - to make in the near future an aviation equivalent of Uber and other similar services. The goal is to make flights as short as possible (up to a thousand kilometers). Recently, the developers reported that they were going to implement the idea in the next year and a half.
The cabin is designed for nine passengers and two crew members. Equipped with aerotaxi batteries and an “intelligent” power distribution system from Phinergy Ltd, which allows the aircraft to independently regulate energy consumption by switching between different onboard systems and distributing electricity as efficiently as possible.
By the end of 2018, the aircraft is going to be fully tested, and then they will start preparing for mass production.
The mass of the aircraft is about six tons, the wingspan is 13 meters, the length of the vessel is 12 meters. With such dimensions, it is able to fly at speeds up to 450 kilometers per hour at an altitude of up to three kilometers. Use for takeoff and landing assumed small airports, which are now going through difficult times.
The company's CEO Omer Bar-Yohai very simply describes the company's philosophy: Tesla's technological effectiveness and Uber quality of services - combining advanced technologies and modern service, by the end of 2019, Eviation Aircraft is planning to create a network of air taxi with a large coverage, affordable prices ticket booking.
