According to the edition of New Atlas, a group of researchers from Taiwan, who organized their start-up called Otto Bikes, recently managed to present their first development - a motorcycle in electric traction (or abbreviated electric), designed for travel around the city. As the developers assure, such a vehicle can become a more affordable alternative to most existing electric vehicles.
The first sample for authorship of the Taiwanese company was called Mini City Racer, and, despite the name, the characteristics of the vehicle are quite impressive. "Kid" weighs 132 kilograms, but with an electric motor with a power of 10 horsepower enables the device to accelerate to 103 kilometers per hour. The declared distance, which Mini City Racer can travel without recharging, is 100 kilometers. Powered by an electric motor from a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 4.8 kilowatts, and to fully charge a fully discharged battery it takes only 2 hours.
There was a place for several innovations: for example, Otto Bikes plan to equip their offspring with a fully customizable frame, a large color display and the ability to connect a smartphone. In the rear and nose of the bike are cameras that fix everything that is happening around. In addition, there is a special button on the control panel that launches a live broadcast on Facebook. At the moment, the Asian market is named as the main market for the sale, and it is not known whether the Mini City Racer will appear outside of it. The declared cost of the electric cycle is 5000 US dollars, which is much lower than most similar models.
