Canadians have developed a universal unmanned driving system.

Canadian company Magna International, specializing in the production of auto parts, said that its engineers have created a system of unmanned driving, which does not need external lidars and a bulky body kit on the car body. The development of Canadian experts assumes the availability of the necessary equipment, but, unlike other solutions, Max4 - the so-called autopilot - can be fully integrated into the body of the machine. Such an approach will help not only to maintain the presentable appearance of the car, but also will allow to protect expensive equipment. In addition, the development is suitable for a number of cars.

Components of the unmanned system have already been developed, tested and ready to go. Reuters reports that engineers will install the new autopilot on their own and on order. The Max4 autonomous driving system will allow the driver to decide for himself when there is a need for it. Therefore, the owner of the car will be able to turn on and off the autopilot at will with the help of a single button located on the dashboard.

Autopilots are developed by specialists from different companies, but more often they are already pre-installed in the car - this is what Tesla does. But many are not satisfied with this approach, so other companies are trying to work in another direction, creating universal unmanned driving systems that can equip any car, regardless of its make and year of manufacture.
